## Description

Every hobbyist knows how tough it is to keep their fishes comfortable and calm especially with smaller fish species. But, with a SunGrow Pack of 50 mini almond leaves, you can sustain it. Shrimps, copepods, sparkling gouramis, cory cats, and oscars love it. Some of them use it as a feeding dish. A few hides behind it and take turns sleeping in the shade of the leaf. Some will make a hammock out of it and sleep on top of it. Watch your mystery snail wear it as a hat. Each leaf measures around 2” and is great for smaller tanks. They make it easier to control the amount of tea water you wish to introduce inside your aquarium. For a 12-gallon tank, introduce around 12 leaves till the water reaches the color or pH you desire. When you do the water change, just add 5 leaves and the water won’t turn mellow and the pH will remain stable. The water in our country ranges from 4.3 - 5.3 and these tropical or freshwater fishes want a slightly neutral pH range (6.0 - 8.0). The low pH level can adversely affect them whereas the high pH level might curl their fins. The Ketapang leaves from SunGrow strengthen fish scales. If you have breeding fishes, Mini Catappa leaves also serve to provide fishes with a secure place to anchor their eggs. These fishes create a bubble nest and use this floating leaf to create them. Since you are using real leaves, you don’t have to worry about artificial coloring that may be present in bottled form. If you want to beautify your tank with Catappa leaves, it is advisable that you place low-light plants such as anubias, java fern, and desertcart sword. Install driftwood so that the fishes get the privacy of their own. It is ready-to-use the moment you receive it in the mail. Just place a few leaves in your tank and only clear them when they disintegrate.

Review: The leaves will turn RED once soaked in water! Great product! - I have a 10 gallon tank. It is well filtered and heated. I condition the water and add beneficial bacteria. I do water changes every two weeks and nearly a full change each month. I also have four different species of plants. I have a female betta and one female danio ( I had 3 danios, but the female betta killed them. She has lived peacefully with the third danio for weeks in account of the danio swims super fast, so the betta gave up. Also they are both happy and healthy.) Good, now that we have a little backstory, let me tell you my experience with these almond leaves. When I first received the package, the leaves were lovely in shape and were not too fragile. They held their form well. I put seven leaves in the tank. The package said 10 leaves for 12 gallons but I have a 10 gallon. Immediately my curious betta examined the leaves. She continues to attempt to eat the stem, possibly because it resembles her feeding tongs. My betta was glass surfing because a plant was dying in my tank and had gone unnoticed. I purchased these leaves to hopefully reduce the stress of the ammonia spike that had happened previously. Immediately after adding the leafs I see a change in attitude and she is playful and relaxed. My danio doesn't really care, but I know this meant a lot for my betta. At first, the leaves do not match the color of the leaves advertised. I wasn't very worried about what the color would be when they arrived, I was more worried about the fragility of them considering they're dried leaves coming in the mail. Like I said they arrived safely and have wonderful form. After 8 hours of them still floating at the top, I decided to flip them over. To which most of them sank within 30 seconds. The package label stated that I could use 20 to 30 leaves in a 12 gallon tank if a stronger color was desired. I was using these leaves for medicinal reasons. I had initially thought that adding too many leaves could be toxic. I will keep this in mind for the future. I took a final picture after 3 days of leaves in a ten gallon. I can see a light coloration in the water and the leaves now have a vibrant red-brown color. Great value for my money, and well worth the buy. I will be purchasing again in the future. It's unfortunate that so many people were not patient enough with the product. Many reviews that I saw on here were about how the leaves didn't match the color in the picture. Their loss!
Review: Good item and easy to use. - Good amount of leaves for the price, smaller leaves are easier to dose 10gal and lower tanks. That way you don’t need to cut leaves and try to guess measurements. I have hard water so I needed some tannins for my tank. My woods already released everything in other tanks, so the leaves are very helpful. One day in and it hasn’t turned my water brown. Could be just my tank and that could be a bad or good thing depending on the person. Ph level did go down some though which is good.

## Features

- Give a peaceful home to your betta --- When fish are given a homely ambiance, they tend to grow stronger. By creating ideal water conditions, we assure that they can prosper. The Indian Almond leaves are considered to have beneficial properties and increase fish appetite.
- Have a breeding pet? Add catappa --- The tropical fishes create bubble nests using a floating leaf to anchor their bubbles. So, if your tank has a breeding tetra, guppy, platies, molly, cichlid or shrimps, just add these leaves and see them anchoring their eggs over IAL. That is a sight to behold.
- Benefits Other Fish and Snails Too --- The tea water has many advantages for fish like tetra, discus, and goldfish. It is good for rasboras and many dwarf cichlids too. Apart from that, snail owners can benefit from the magical leaves. Giving your fish this ambience calms them down. It imparts color to them and makes their scales firmer.
- Smaller leaves, easier portion control --- Each packet contains 50 leaves measuring around 2-inches high which is a great value for money. Smaller Catappa leaves make for easier portion control and a good way to slowly introduce your pet to a new surrounding especially for smaller fishes in smaller tanks.
- Adds beauty to nano tanks, small bowls and jars --- The Catappa leaves from SunGrow are unprocessed so you know what goes into your tank. They look pretty in a nano tank and add aesthetic beauty to your planted tank. You may even add these in individual betta jars or bowls.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is this ok and good for the fancy guppies and fry guppies? thanks**
A: NO! Don't do it, I thought I'd try some for my guppies too, thinking about the healing properties it has for bettas & betta fry. But instead I lost about 100 guppy fry and around 20 of my adults! After, (should have done this prior !!) I Googled it & found that there is something in the leaves that poison them. I just use tap water that's been sitting out for a few days, same room temp. NO Catappa leaves.

**Q: A couple of leaves in my 5.5-gal tank crashed the pH from 6.8 to 6.3 in less than 12 hours. How can I use leaves without pH crashes?**
A: Hello, Decreasing pH is one of the benefits offered by SunGrow leaves. If you don't want to decrease it, I would recommend using less number of leaves,Some experts recommend boiling the leaves to decrease the effect of tannins. You can try that and see if it works for your tank.

**Q: I have a 10 gallon aquarium with top fin silenstream filter. How many leaves to drop in for 1 smaller goldfish ?**
A: You could drop in a handful. There’s really no limit since the worst that really happens is the water gets very yellow. Though with even a small goldfish in this size tank you’ll likely be changing it out a lot since goldfish need a much bigger space since they produce a lot of waste and grow quite quickly.

**Q: large or small indian almond leaves**
A: Depends on the size of your tank. I would by the large if your tank is over 12 gallons. These leaves are great. You can also break the larger ones as well. Hope this helps. :)

Exactly as described! This was my first time using them so I feel as though they were effective and easy to use! It did not affect any of my live plants and my betta loved exploring it and hiding under it when it sank to the floor! Overall great value and will purchase again!
