Review: Decent quality, go for it, with caveats - I ordered 5 mm thick, 25 x 25 mm pieces of quartz. Initially, the vendor sent me 1 mm thick pieces by mistake. I returned those and received 5 mm thick pieces today. They appear to be of good quality. Surfaces are sufficiently polished. However, if you want to use for optical experiments, the surface roughness might be an issue, as it is of the order of visible wavelenth (~1 micron).
