The webbing in the sticks was pulled pretty tight, but it only took me 30 seconds on each stick to fix that. 4 of my kids (3 teenagers and a one year old) then played nicely together while my wife and watched and sat with our newborn. That doesn't happen often, and it was great. The shafts of the sticks are plastic, so these aren't going to replace real sticks. They are toys, and if you treat them as such, you'll be completely satisfied with the purchase. This also applies to the net, don't shoot on this net with real lacrosse balls or they'll rip right through. The balls that came with the set are too heavy for indoor use, you'll definitely end up breaking something, so we're using some lighter foam balls we already had, and they're working great.
