Works fine in this application. 8mm is pretty skinny line for day-to-day use for climbing and dynamic stress loads but perfect for helping maintain balance moving from point to point without dynamic (shock) load stresses. These are the only reasons for the 4 vs 5 star rating.Major part of the value of this package is the wonderful pre-formed loops, quality thimbles, and really good, easy to use carabiners. They make connection, one handed locking a thoughtless breeze. Unplanned disconnects are a disaster waiting to happen.
