## Questions & Answers

**Q: Why is a paid sim necessary? satellite phones should let you call from anywhere without reliance on the network?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. Like most mobile communication devices, satellite phones connect to their network through a paid service such as a monthly plan or prepaid card. These services are facilitated by the SIM card inserted in the satellite phones. It's very similar to using a SIM card for cellular service only that satellite communications use a different network structure.

**Q: I drive for living and sometimes I go to Alaska and nother Canada which is the best card that will fit me best??**
A: If only used in Canada and Alaska, then the Canada/Alaska prepaid is best. If you intend to use this in the Continental US or any other country, a Global card is necessary.

**Q: I am willing to buy a satelite phone for our Marine tugboat. Can we receive the call records (call made by this phone) from the service provider?**
A: Not with a prepaid card. With a monthly service card you get a full usage breakdown on your invoice.

**Q: The phone can activate with USA phones numbers?**
A: All Iridium phone numbers are Country code 8816. You have the option of a US based forwarding number if activated on Monthly Service. Prepaid Service has the ability to utilize Iridium's 2-stage dialing feature.
