However the extension fit snugly over the base table that it doesn’t need to be necessarily screwed in. I have brewing ingredients and some electronics on mine and it’s positioned off the wall. No concerns for me about it falling. It’s been up for 5 months now to date **Q: There were opposite statement about making this a narrow standalone table. Could you put casters on the over table to make it work?** A: No. The part that attaches to the table (the legs) have an “L” shaped flanged to sit on top of and attach to the table on the table ends. There is no hole for a caster to insert.
