Review: Awesome optics for the price! Use for fine repairs, PCBA work, fly tying, etc. - I love these - I've purchased several of these over the years. I first learned of them on a well-known reading glasses website, and was glad to find them here where I can get free shipping at the same price. The construction is a bit cheesy and you have to be careful with them so not to break them, but for the price you can't beat it. I use these for anything that requires close-up work - fine repairs, printed circuit board work, fly tying, etc.
Review: The Solution! - My vision with correction is about 20/80. I read magazines, books, and use computers extensively. I went to a low-vision doctor who sold me a pair of $400 reading glasses. They did the job but were very heavy, and the frames were of average quality. When the temple broke I began searching for a less-expensive alternative. I found the OcuLens for $7 and it is near-perfect for my needs. Keep in mind - it is a magnifier, which means it's not designed to work at normal reading distance. (Neither were the $400 glasses). It needs to be closer to the eye, just like any magnifying glass. Also keep in mind that it is cheaply made, and requires reasonable handling. The two things that make it ideal for me are: 1) The clip works, and as far as I can tell, will work on any pair of glasses. 2) The distance from the eye is adjustable - a must for my needs, and a feature I have found on no other product. For those with good vision - do not expect high-quality optics. You get what you pay for. My vision is poor enough that I can't tell the difference. The OcuLens easily clips onto my wire-frame glasses, between the lenses. I can adjust the distance and angle from my right eye (the only working eye), and I can move it up and out of the way when I need to use my glasses normally. The OcuLens adds very little weight, so I can leave it attached as I walk around for short periods of time, having it ready when I need to read or examine something close up. I've been using it constantly for two weeks, moving it in every direction and position; it remains firmly in whatever position I place it. I've dropped it a few times, and it has held up very well. It will sometimes come off when I set my glasses down without folding the temples, but it does not come off during use. An example of a more expensive and less effective product is the Bausch & Lomb Sight Savers eyeglass loupe. It's $35 - $70 and the clip is almost useless. It won't clip to my wire or plastic frames. The instructions' tiny print is barely readable, which I find ironic, especially from a company that should know better. Assuming the clip did work, the distance from the eye is not adjustable. I have purchased three of the OcuLens, as it is not a high-quality item, and I don't know how long it will last. But it is the answer to my reading requirements, and I recommend it with no hesitation. A word to the newly-visually impaired: When your vision becomes as poor as mine, your reading habits will change. It's unlikely you'll be able to hold your material at a distance. You will have to learn how to sit up straight while holding the material close to your face, doing your best not to bend your neck, as you may develop neck or back problems. There are other reading aids, like video tools and such, but for a portable solution you'll probably end up with thick glasses or an item like the OcuLens. Update: It's been a year and this device has not failed in the least. The joints still hold, good as new. I've learned that the rubber feet can come off and get lost, but a touch of glue solves this problem. I'm now in the habit of slipping it in my pocket for reading menus.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I wonder if these would help me see my computer screen better, about 1 foot away. Is this possible?**
A: Nope, focal range is less then 3 inches

**Q: Would it work for doing hand embroidery?**
A: I don't use it for embroiling, however it should work like anther hand holding a magnifying glass to one of your eyes. If that works with embroiling, you must determine.

**Q: Are the safety glasses themselves magnifying, or is just the flip down lens, or both for added magnification?**
A: Thank you for your inquiry. The flip down lenses are the magnifying component of this product. The safety lenses are standard safety glasses.

**Q: Sirven para una persona que usa +3**
A: Hay diferentes graduaciones .

### ⭐⭐⭐ Cheap optics.
*by S***N on August 7, 2015*

Its cheap so I guess you get cheap optics. It only has a very small area of focus that you can see clearly what you are trying to magnify. Would not recommend these.
