The adhesive is a little on the stickier side and does hurt a bit when pulling. I've noticed its less painful to pull up on the skin and pull quickly in a downward angle. (Tips for application & removal @ the end) I am currently an occupational therapy graduate student and have previously used KT tape for my knee and wrist in treatment. I actually like this tape MORE than the original KT tape brand. TheraBand is slightly thinner but doesn't lack on adhesion. I have fairly avg skin sensitivity and while it isn't super comfortable to take off (like any other KT tape) my skin is back to normal within 30 minutes. The hexagons are also super helpful for application and applying the correct stretch! It also makes it much easier for you to tell someone else how to correctly apply it to an area you may not be able to reach. *****TIPS & TRICKS***** *Prior to application, make sure to remove hair from the area about 3 hours before and refrain from any perfume or lotion. (instructions say 1 hour, earlier will only help with skin sensitivity) *Use the guiding lines on the back to cut strips thinner or smaller (round edges on the cut end to reduce the corners rolling up) *Pay attention to the hexagons for stretch (key is on the back of every piece) *I only leave mine on for 3 days and allow my skin at least 2 days to breathe in between uses *When removing, DO NOT RIP, pull slowly and keep skin tight. Allow tape to soak prior to removal.
