The quietest and most powerful marine fan in its class! The Bora 748, 12-volt fan, is designed to deliver the features needed to solve any on-board airflow challenge. The Bora features a long-life motor with centre push control, grills on front and back and built-in handle for easy up/down or side-to-side positioning. Specifications Dimensions: 6.5” x 3.0” x 9.5”Draw: 12Volt: Low 0.15A, Med 0.18A, High 0.27ACFM: 100-130 CFMCare and Maintenance The Bora requires very little maintenance. Unplug the unit before cleaning. A vacuum can be used to clear the heater of any dust build-up, and a dry cloth may be used to wipe the outer surface. Do not attempt to open the unit to clean. Do not use gasoline, thinner or other harsh chemicals to clean the fan.

Review: One of the best available - What can I say? It’s not like we have a lot of choices out there for 12v fans for marine applications. I find it best for the sleeping cabins and would prefer something with a little more gumption for the Saloon. I have two there and still would prefer something more powerful but I simply couldn’t find a better alternative. I know, some of you will say that they have to be small because they go on boats. To that I say “Bunk!” Boats are getting roomier and you need more airflow. Besides, I started out in the electronics industry. Muffin fans are at least 40 yo technology, as small as... well... a muffin, and can kick up a helluva breeze. So while these are as good as we’re going to get right now, I think we should expect more. (Side track for a moment: who writes the suggestions for these reviews? Why the suggestion for “travel” and a star rating? These are 12v fans designed for campers and yachts. Travel is something they just do. Do they ask, “are we there yet?”, do I have to stop every 30 minutes? No. You want 5 stars for that?! Now back to our regularly scheduled review...) Installation was easy (especially considering all the other things that go wrong on boats), operation is simple, ridiculously quiet (75db on high right next to the fan (think of a whisper in your ear) - ambient sound level of vessel is 63 db with engines off at anchor), and it’s a far far better alternative to the older fan by the same maker. **Q: How quiet is this fan supposed to be? of the two of these i've tried, both have pretty loud motor drone.  did i get 2 defective ones?**
A: Mine is very quiet

**Q: How well do these handle getting wet? Can this fan be used in full exterior?**
A: I don't believe they are made to get wet at all. They work well but are cheaply constructed. They should be mounted where they won't get bumped as the base  is weak. As another user mentioned, the switch is also a weak point. I have 4 of these on a boat. The swivel base has broken on two and was eliminated so the fans cant be turned side to side and the one that gets the most use  has a worn out switch. It still works on two out of three speeds. Still, good luck finding another similar sized fan that moves as much air and has all the same features.

**Q: Does Fan swivel to blow in either direction?**
A: Yes it does very good quietest fan ever. have 2 in the bedroom of my motor home love them. Best part wife loves them . I added a variable speed switch and made it even better. can get you part number of it if you want it

**Q: What is the fan diameter?**
A: 6-7 inches....very effective
