Boy was I wrong! First off, no mess, so that's a huge plus. There isn't powdered chalk all over my dumbell rack and floor anymore. Second, you can easily apply only as much as you need because its a cream that quickly dries. You can definitely reapply it as well. I touch up the sides of my thumbs and the callouses where the bar rests on my palms between sets. Lastly, it is definitely superior on terms of grip to powdered chalk. I thought my grip was failing doing deadlifts using powdered chalk, but the first time I used this I was able to complete every rep in every set without losing my grip. I'm not a fan of straps and other grip aids, and this stuff has allowed me to continue to lift raw.
