It has been safe, effective and gentle to use on the wounds - no burning or stinging when washing. And no infections developed. I now use it as an all-over body wash, too. It has a silky feel (maybe from the natural oils it contains) and doesn't dry my skin out at all. The lemon scent is wonderful but, as other reviewers have pointed out, it doesn't linger after rinsing. Still, it smells great when washing.
