A: I would say this shade glows with the light. You can't see the bulb through the shade - if that's what you mean by transparent - but the effect is very nice and the light given off is quite bright. This is a quality lamp shade and I highly recommend it.

A: I bought it so long ago. I honestly don't remember. There is no tag on the shade itself.
