However, I have one I bought at Johnson Space Flight Center in 80's. I've refilled it 6 times. Think it was almost $10, I had to wonder around the store thinking about it before I shelled out that much cash. Worth every penny. **Q: Is it retractable? Is that deformity at the top for putting pressure on in order to release rhe tip of the pen, dispelling the ink?** A: It is retractable. And no it does not dispell the ink with pressure. It acts just like a ball point pen, but built like a tank. **Q: Taking into consideration the very special ink that this pen uses, would this be a good choice for a lefty? It seems that this ink may smear easier** A: I am a lefty and I am on my 3rd one of these. It feels amazing in the hands and after 2 weeks of day to day use it is fine and there is no rust.
