They use what they call K&N's cabin air filter refresher that increases the electrostatic properties of the cabin air filter helping it to trap contaminants. There is a specific CABIN AIR FILTER cleaning kit that K&N has (KN Part Number 99-6000 "K&N CABIN FILTER CLEANING CARE KIT" (at the time of this writing it is not available on amazon but is available at other local auto parts stores (for many))) DO NOT USE ENGINE AIR FILTER CLEANING KITS ON THIS FILTER these ENGINE air filter cleaning kits use oil and will make your car smell like that oil if you use it on your cabin air filter!!! Also THIS filter does not increase fuel economy as it has nothing to do with the engine...
