You may want to add a 1/4" tee, with a 1/4" to 1/4" valve, after the filter to use as a flush line (If your refrigerator or ice maker doesn't have a water dispenser). When you change filter cartridges, little black charcoal specks come out in the water for the first 5 minutes.
