Comfort, support and fitting. The Nike Air Max Plus men's shoe maintains the legendary "tuned" damping and energy lines of the original 1998 model. Upper in leather, synthetic or colour based fabric; foam sole with Tuned Air cushioning; rubber sole. Origins of the Air Max Plus shoe: the revolutionary Air-Sole unit led to the Nike Footwear line in 1978. The Nike Air Max 1 is the debut of the Nike Air Max 1, the first model with visible Air unit on the heel, which shows fans the features of the new technology, while offering all the typical advantages of Air-Sole. In 1998, Air Max Plus introduced the damping system that "tuning" Air-Sole units with specific parts of the foot to give more stability and support to runners. Thanks to the sunset-inspired colors and wavy design lines, reminiscent of wind-caressed beaches, this shoe gained such popularity that soon became a real cultural phenomenon.

**Q: Why does the purple and gold say black and gold? ?Im confused**
A: Well in fairness there is some purple in the the shoe but it is by far mostly black and then even if quite a small amount but much more striking are the gold insets against the black background ? Hope this helps ? But my favourite shoe in all their colours ! Fred
