They stand up to kids, pets, gardening messes - you name it, they will get your laundry clean. I've found that 1 works perfectly for most (even large) loads, but sometimes I like to put 1 1/2 for extra large or extra soiled loads, just for my own peace of mind. I love how little packaging these strips use and the fact that they are plastic free. They save me at least 12 plastic detergent bottles per year and they're WAY cleaner to use than liquid detergent, not to mention SO.MUCH.CHEAPER than liquid detergents, when you compare how much a box like this costs to how much the equivalent of liquid detergent would cost. The fact that these strips can remove odors and dirt without harmful chemicals is simply amazing. It's like magic. I will never ever go back to liquid detergent, but I do sometimes combine these strips with the use of liquid laundry sanitizer. I would love to see TruEarth come out with a laundry sanitizer strip so I can stop buying those plastic bottles too! If you're questioning whether these can keep up with your family, the answer is YES. I can't recommend these sheets enough.
