Review: Used as audio power and transfer device - First I bought a 'used like new', its basically a customer return without the box and appears fully new. Secondly, it does what I needed. I use it to charge my s10 tablet, and power an audio interface (UMC202HD) and then transfer data between them both plus a Kawai piano. Everything powers, everything transfers data exactly as I had hoped it would. I use a 20W usb-c power supply (though im sure it would be better if I add a 100w charger its rated for) and it charges the tablet with PD but also provides enough usb-A power to get the audio interface running (my old dock didnt!). The audio is correctly sent from the piano and tablet without any delays or loss of quality to the audio device which runs both with and without the 48v boost from the usb port. Most usb hubs/docks struggle with providing enough usb-a power for this purpose but this just does as its asked.
Review: 11 ports but will you actually use some of them? Still, it's pretty slick design - First off the design is simple, effective and practical - having this as a slice that raises the laptop is a great idea though it would be even better of the device itself didn't get as warm as it does - it kind of removes the advantage of adding an air gap under the laptop. However, so far it hasn't made things worse, just not really made them better. My laptop is on a stand anyway so the typing advantage is not relevant but if you used this face-to-face then you would possibly really like it. So - 11 ports! That sounds like a lot! It *IS* a lot! but since one of them is micro-SD and one is DisplayPort, one is USB-C in (and there's only that one USB-C port) and one is VGA (I mean who still uses *that*?) then you can see that actually this is basically a 7-in-1 hub at best for most people. 8-in-1 if you care about the micro-SD card slot... :| But, since it has HDMI (and for my single 32" 4K monitor it works perfectly, as I expected) and USB-A type 3 x 2 and USB-A type 2 x 1 plus an audio out and gigabit ethernet then is that really ok? Let's start with gigabit ethernet, since that is fundamental to the reason I bought this. Let's face it - wired ethernet is still superior to wireless if you can get it. But so many USB-hubs with ethernet will (trust me, they really will) just fail to initialise when the laptop wakes up. I have drawer full of them - good names too, including Anker. All pants at waking up after a snooze (I sympathise but they do only have this one job). Belkin, OTOH, make the official Apple adapter and they really will wake up when the computer does - especially on Mac - and that matters a lot to me. Performance of the network is solid gigabit ethernet, no issues at all. USB-A (type 2 or 3) works as you'd expect. I have a much longer 7-port USB hub plugged into one USB3 port and a backup disc plugged into the other and both are flawless. USB-2 is for the odd time I need a wireless mouse or odd random accessory. So far so good. HDMI is as described on the product page - I am TOLD it doesn't support dual monitors on Mac with extended desktop using HDMI and DisplayPort but I can't comment because I haven't tried. A single massive 4k monitor is more than enough and works perfectly. VGA? *shrug* never used it, likely never will. SD card slots both work well though I think they are "upside down" - YMMV but it's a small thing to me. Audio socket. Hmm, now you're asking. It doesn't show up as an audio output source on Mac volume control, doesn't "just work" by taking internal audio if you plug in headphones. Not really sure how it's supposed to work, actually. In the system report it shows as Unknown USB Audio Device / Unknown manufacturer and that's it. :( Looks like that needs some more work. (Yes, the MacBook Pro does have an audio socket anyway (and that supports digital connections if you have the right sort of amp) but if you use it with analogue connections it hums significantly when plugged into my amplifier on the same mains ring (so it's not an earth loop ok). I was hoping this device would sidestep the issue and allow me to escape the lag on bluetooth but sadly that is not the case.) So, overall, this is probably more like a 6-in-1 adapter but those 6 (or 7) ports work flawlessly and are all I really wanted anyway. If you wanted USB-C out, audio out and multi-monitor support then try it on Windows or find a different product. For now, this is staying on my desktop setup - the single cable connect is great and it does what I need it to.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Do you have a power supply for this product?**
A: No, Andy. The Belkin INC004 Connect USB-C 11-in-1 Multiport Dock does not include a power supply but, the dock requires a minimum 65W USB-C power supply be used with it.

**Q: Does it support "extended" displays, or are they mirrored (duplicated)? ex: hdmi is screen #1, displayport is #2, mac is #3, all different workspaces?**
A: Depends on your OS. If you're on a Mac, the hub will extend your display to 1 external monitor. If you add a second external display, it will only mirror the first one - not extend to it. This isn't Apple's fault, either. I've used an Anker hub for years and had no problem extending to multiple displays from a Mac. This hub, however, doesn't function that way.

**Q: My hp laptop has 1 usb c port. but its only 5gbps and not 10. would this still connect?**
A: Hi! It should work. The Belkin INC004 has been designed to work with computers and devices that can connect over USB-C.

**Q: Is this just an L-shaped piece of metal, with the ports on one long side pointing through? Are the ends and bottom of the base closed? Photos?**
A: Fully enclosed all the way around. The bottom and sides are a darker color so it does look like a bit of an L-shape in the photos.

*by S***S on 8 December 2021*

Does all I need it for, but the pass through charging does not work, and the connection cable could do with being slightly longer.
