It works fast, within about 10-30 mins depending on how firm you want your tofu. It's well designed, well made, and easy to wash as well. The corner pour vents on the lid allow you to pour off water without having to reopen the press, another great feature. The reason I chose this press over another popular one is the bonus of the marinating lid, which allows me to remove the pressing device, prepare my marinade in the same container, then put the lid on to keep my tofu from other food smells when I return it to the fridge. You could probably use the container for storing other foods too.
