I have a Work Sharp to renew many of my blades and I use this for those in-between touch ups. It's just easier than going through the steps of the Work Sharp. This small sharpener does remove more steel so easy softer strokes are the way to go. I use this small sharpener for all my chef knives through my swiss army knives. Some stated that they don't feel safe using this sharpener. The sharpener has a guard to prevent accidental finger damage or I don't quite understand why the hesitation. I have never had a problem with this sharpener. Actually, I have two of them because they are small are can easily be misplaced. This little sharpener will not put the same edge on as a belt sharpener but it will get your knife to pass the paper cutting test and if used correctly, will get your knife to shave your arm hair.
