It is mechanical, a small reader with a straight cable from the read (positioned where the wheel is bolted to the front forks) and runs up to the speedometer. It is a so simple design, it's not electrical. Unless there is something that interferes with the front forks (where the front wheel is attached) then there should be no problem.
