Boy was the carbon caked on (the butterfly valve wouldn't even move by hand at first). It took the entire 5 oz bottle to clean it, and a good nylon brush, but dang if the CRC cleaner didn't do an excellent job and make easy work of it! Except for the most stubborn spots, the carbon pretty much just ran off without any scrubbing or elbow grease required. This was the first time I ever attempted something like this--I'm not a mechanic or a "gear head" DIY'er--and I was genuinely impressed at how effective this cleaner is. You dont pour it anywhere! You put a very small amount on a rag and carefully clean your throttle body on your car. Dont be pushing around on the throttle body or you will break it like I did mine. Easy does it with this stuff! **Q: Is this safe for plastics?** A: i wouldn't use it on plastic. It could discolor the plastic or weaken it **Q: can i use this through a vacuum tube? like how some carbon clean products are used** A: We recommend cleaning the throttle body with this product. For other engine cleaning purposes we recommend our Motor Treatment, Top Engine Cleaner, or our GDI IVD Cleaner. **Q: Can this work to clean the mass air flow too, what would be the difference for throttle vs MAF?** A: May leave residue.
