**Q: What size are they?**
A: You need to check each offering... these mats can come in four different sizes (sometimes depending on the pattern) -- coaster size, small mat, medium mat, and quite large mat.  Also, be careful washing them... get them too wet and the edges can peel up.

**Q: i am looking for these placemats in fabric.  Not interested in corkboard**
A: I had to go to the actual Portmeirion to order my fabric placemats and tablecloth. However, I LOVE the corkboard ones jyst as much.

**Q: what does size 16 mean?**
A: The size of the placemats is 16 inches x 12 inches

**Q: Strong odor to these placemats. Is this normal and what can I do about it?**
A: I haven’t encountered any odor from my place mats.
I only wash the top side with soapy water and dry them thoroughly. 
Are you able to put the mats outside to see if the odor clears up from airing them ?
Cork can sometimes give off an odor.
