The bass response is on a shelf on the extremely low end. This allows for a higher bass response with minimal quality loss in the mids and absolutely zero difference in the highs. I tried this amp's bass boost on and also off with my Beyerdynamic DT 1770, Hifiman Ananda Nano, HD 600s, and several IEMs, and this is the first amp I've bought where the gimmick genuinely feels like a magic switch. If you are showing a pair of HiFi headphones to someone and they think it's lacking bass, this amp is perfect and for the price should at the very least be picked up to spice up your sound occasionally. The sound is very good but it doesn’t work with my over the ear headphones. In Bluetooth mode it pairs with my iPhone simultaneously with the amplifier but I get no sound, so it only works with the wire plugged in. I’m going keep it anyway. It could just be the 5.1 Bluetooth functionality with my version 17 iPhone, not really sure.
