Two coats of LG10 is usually sufficient to achieve a smooth glossy finish. Clear glaze can be used over the AMACO LUG series, Velvet, Velvet1Strokes, Designer Velvet, and over the GDC Majolica Gloss Decorating Colors. When gloss decorating colors are used over bisque, they need a clear glaze over them which is applied at the same time and fired once. Pint Review: Favorite glaze - It reached on time. And this clear glaze (I did 3 coats) made the colors pop beautifully! I know it says Cone-05 but I fired it to Cone-5 to keep things food safe. And the glaze held up really well - no running, no crazing, pinging etc. Love it! If the porcelain is already fired and you want to coat it, you should be able to fire it to Cone 05.
