The second model has a cord to for the wearer to pull to inflate. Lastly, once used the inflator cartridge need to be replaced at a cost of about $30. I went with the rip cord and have never tried it but wear it whenever I'm boating. This PFD is far more comfortable than a traditional bulky PFD. My main use is kayaking and in my opinion, this is far more comfortable (due to its low profile) when compared to the traditional PFD. I have also used this on a boat and while boating, it is so low profile and comfortable, you forget you have it on. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Using in my airplane *by J***M on May 6, 2024* I bought this to use in my airplane when I fly over water. Wanted a manual inflate so this fit the bill and is significantly less expensive than some other brands. It is comfortable to wear enough so that I forget I have it on. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nice and Comfy *by J***R on December 22, 2021* The vests are well made and comfortable to wear. Take your time adjusting them to fit when trying for the first time.
