**Q: how durable or long lasting are these?**
A: Not long lasting at all. The material seems to be too soft for the purpose. Company was nice to give me a refund, but mine only lasted a few days of use.

**Q: are they black in color ?**
A: Yes, they're black.

**Q: will the 3 nails affect TSA screening (metal detectors) at airports?**
A: Absolutely not.
The deeper issue with these sole protectors is the tiny nail size that comes with the kit. The Chinese who fabricate these kits scrimp on both the mail size and poor adhesion of the pad to the sole. I had to find larger brads and use some fast- drying super glue to insure the pads would not come off after the first week of using the re-padded shoes.

Greetings! These heel protectors are really thick and I think are going to work out pretty well compared to the thinner plastic ones I used to buy. The only complaint I had was that the double stickum tape they provide is EXTREMELY thin. You won’t have much trouble removing the tape from one side, but the other side is nearly impossible because the double stickum tape is so thin. You could probably remove it with a razor blade or an X-Acto knife, but you’re not going to be able to remove it with your fingernail. I finally gave up and took the suggestion that they provided and used superglue on the heel protector.
