Enough for items to become stuck between them. **Q: Can the blades be sharpened?** A: No sure. I don't see where you can take the blades off so it may be difficult. **Q: are the handles designed to come off the blades? I have two of these and both sets of handles came off the blades while they were being used.** A: Nope **Q: Will this cut through cooked chicken or steak?** A: It is sharp enough and may work for a small quantity if you need to mince it, but I would think a chefs knife or meat grinder would be preferred.
