I could also see it working well with an airbrush. I used it to make a stencil for a wooden sign I made at Christmas with a silhouette cameo cutting machine. It is a thin plastic like material just like the thin sheets of stencils sold in some craft stores with an added adhesive back. The backing is not too sticky. **Q: Does it have an adhesive backing** A: Yes, it does. However, buyers beware- this roll comes very tightly rolled and it causes a ton of air bubbles that are next to impossible to get out before using! **Q: Can you use this for etching?** A: I use it for glass etching. Just what I was looking for. The adhesive side makes project stencilling a lot easier and gives a better finished look! Taping a stencil on the outside edges does nothing for the middle areas and sometimes there is “bleeding” which is very frustrating, especially on wood signs/projects. The stencil adhered perfect to the wood and I was very pleased with the cut/weeding of this product. Easy peasy!
