A: It will fit, depending on the dimensions of the duffel & if the wheels of the duffel are on the very bottom. I can't imagine it will look smooth either since it is not made for a duffel, but it will definitely protect it.

A: Yes.  would will be so pleased with this purchase.  My luggage now still remains looking new.  The cover has taken a beaten, but it sure does beat buying new luggage all the time.  There are holes for both right and left sided luggage.
