A recent study conducted by the USDA showed that fatty acids derived from coconut oil had long lasting insect repelling properties, and you may have seen recently that Palmer's users have touted experiencing these results. However please note that Palmer’s products have not been developed or tested for this benefit so we cannot verify efficacy around insect repellency. **Q: what does this smell like?** A: I've been going crazy about why my hands smelled like garlic after showers. I thought it was my towels. Turns out it's the lotion!!!! Absolutely insane. Why and how can they make that smell anyways?!? I'm so happy I found this because these reviews are literally the only proof I have or I would've convinced myself of phantom smells. **Q: How does it compare to palmer’s cocoa butter formula with vitamin e? is it more hydrating, moisturizing, etc.?** A: They are both similar in formula but different ingredients. **Q: Is it normal for this to smell like sunblock?** A: No, none that I have had smelled like sun block. ## Frequently Bought Together - Palmer's Shea Formula Raw Shea Body Lotion for Dry Skin, Hand & Body Moisturizer, Flip Cap Bottle, 8.5 Ounces (Pack of 1) - Palmer’s Shea Butter Formula Raw African Shea Butter Balm, Nourishing Body Moisturizer for Rough, Dry Skin, 7.25 Ounces - Palmer's Shea Formula Raw Shea Body Oil with Vitamin E, Deep Body Moisturizer to Soothe & Nourish Dry, Sensitive & Eczema-Prone Skin, 8.5 oz --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/253008460-raw-shea-butter-formula-daily-body-lotion-48-hrs-moisture](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/253008460-raw-shea-butter-formula-daily-body-lotion-48-hrs-moisture) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-09*
