Just excellent. Two very nice speakers, plenty of volume, minimal distortion. So a big plus there. Second, it is well built, solid. Have dropped a few times and no issues. The antenna works OK, you will have to fidget with it sometimes, other times you don't even need to extend it, so it depends on the signal strength and distance of the station, which is normal. I often use the extended antenna as a "prop" stand to support the radio (so it won't fall over if you hit it) and that works great. The various functions seem to all work OK, but I use mainly as a radio. The rotary volume control is another excellent feature. Works very well. There's also an audio/headphone jack which is nice. The one glitch is the power button which is a bit flaky. However, if you center your thumb/finger and push down firmly it usually works fine. Sometimes I have to try 2-3 times, but not too often. For those having worse issues, note that you can also use the clock timer button to turn off the radio (this button works well on mine). You have to press it several times to go through the time settings, but the last one is "off" and turns off the radio. So for those with a real bad power button, this might help. The power off timer is a nice feature by the way. I use the radio at night when going to sleep and this saves battery life. Battery life seems to be around 4-8 hours for me most of the time. Depends on volume level.I bought my first 3 years ago and it is still working fine. Rugged, very solid and well built radio. I have purchased several. The sound quality is so good.(Note: What they refer to here as a TF card, we call a micro-SD card here in the USA.} ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Sound for the size and cost. It isn't concert hall sound but for just over $20, it isn't bad *by on Reviewed in the United States June 21, 2026* I started with the less expensive clock radios and the sound was extremely disappointing on the cheaper models. This is not a clock radio, it is only a radio. I will echo what others have said about being pleasantly surprised with the sound quality on this radio. The fact it is battery operated rather than a plug in model might have an impact on longevity as it appears to run on a large cell phone style lithium ion battery. It doesn't come with a USB power adapter for your wall socket so you will need to use one of the ones you have laying around from an old cell phone. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Once You "Tweak" It! *by on Reviewed in the United States July 6, 2026* Great portable radio and I love being able to play music from jump drives! We have two of them. Lost one star for the small battery size and it's limited operation time. Purchase the BL-5C Battery 3.7V Rechargeable, 3000mAh and a Kastar BL-5C AC Wall Battery Charger and you'll be good to go. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/25089317-lefon-multifunction-digital-fm-radio-media-speaker-mp3-music-player](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/25089317-lefon-multifunction-digital-fm-radio-media-speaker-mp3-music-player) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-30*
