I didn't expect much for the money, but it works really well! I have found that distilled water seems to make very fragile ice, but when boiling the water briefly before use, the ice is slightly less clear but much less prone to exploding upon contact with liquid. You may want to keep the ice you make with this in a sealed container in the freezer so that it doesn't lose detail from the defrosting cycle of your freezer.Another fun tip is that my son and I made pink lemonade ice skulls with our mold and the pink tinge really accentuates the details. We use a syringe to fill the mold, because the included funnel is tiny (adequate, but tiny, as my wife often said...) and I just put a mark on the syringe where the perfect fill level is.
