I live in an apartment and don't want to leave a sticky residue behind.** A: This is not design to be removed in the sense that you are talking. If you put it in leave it in. There will be residue if you remove it. **Q: Would this stop small water leaks or would it just drip thru it?** A: It might stop it at first, but it would eventually drip through. I am using mine outside on a wooden structure and now that it's raining here in SoCal, the adhesive is starting to weaken and come off of the structure in some spots, understandably. This foam strip works great when paired with the black leather utility gloves (see my review of those) to construct the hard to find and expensive Mad Max MFP uniform gloves. I used strips of this foam tape to manufacture my own Max Rockatansky gloves. They are missing the middle sowing but that can be add. I plan to do that later myself to really give these things that final touch. The strip is easy to cut, bend, and attach as needed. The sticky side is very durable and will last.
