Review: Best socks I've ever owned. - These socks were pricier but kept my feet plenty warm on my first mountaineering experience. They are also incredibly comfortable and cozy for normal winter wear.
Review: THE Sock to Rule All Others - I haven't felt compelled to review any item before, but I feel like I'd be doing Darn Tough Vermont a grave disservice if I neglected to write a short review of their fabulous socks. If you're on the fence about these socks because of the price, do yourself a favor and buy them. These socks more than make up for the rather high price through quality, materials used, and performance. The stitching in the toes and heel is very heavy and durable. I've already worn these socks on multi-mile walks and hikes, and they feel great even in the awful heat and humidity of Mississippi. The blend of the socks (merino wool, nylon, and lycra spandex) does an excellent job of wicking moisture, and I have developed no blisters or even hot spots with these form-fitting sleeves of wonder. Speaking of form-fitting, these socks are a snug fit by design. If you don't like having tight socks, you might want to go up a size but I love the way they feel. These socks do not bunch or sag down your calf the way cotton socks do. I haven't had these long so time will be the true test, but I anticipate no issues. And if the socks do form a hole or otherwise present me with some problem, Darn Tough Vermont offers a lifetime warranty - no questions asked. How many companies stand behind their products like that? One thing I'd mention that I haven't seen in other reviews: If you wear mid-length hiking boots (such as Merrell Moab mid-length), you might want to consider the Darn Tough crew type sock instead. The boot sock comes up to roughly the middle of my calf - quite a bit above the top of my mid-length pair of Moab Ventilators. I don't mind the length whatsoever, but it is worth mentioning.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Where is the information on sizing?**
A: How many times do we (increasingly) find vendors and manufacturers putting their products up on Amazon, but seem to have no clue how to provide the most basic info about the product? This is one of those cases. They sell socks and other things, but provide NO SIZE INFORMATION. On their website you have to waste time hunting for sizing info, only to eventually discover that it's buried in the FAQs. I-D-I-O-T-S The quality of vendors on Amazon has grown increasingly low when it comes to product information.

**Q: Is this one pair of socks?**
A: I think I understand the concern. At least at the moment, the price has a range from $16 - $120. The alarming $120 price is for a pack of 6 pairs of socks. I just ordered another single pair and it was $19.00 for the ones I bought. When going Rim-to-Rim-to-Rim across the Grand Canyon, good socks are worth every penny.

**Q: is this the price for ONE pair?? I love that they're made here, but, that's crazy**
A: These are not for wearing to work. I use them mainly for rough hiking and for travel when the number of socks matters more than anything else. 3 pairs and I can be on travel indefinitely - even camping/hiking all around the world.
They are very comfortable and they last. I've gone through 3 pairs of hiking boots - using the same sets of Darn Tough socks. That should say enough about their quality. I don't expect to **ever** buy hiking socks again in my life - and I expect to be hiking 20+ more years. So ... if you buy new smartwool socks every 2 yrs, it doesn't take long to pay for these much higher quality socks.

OTOH, if you buy 10 pairs for $5 every 2 yrs, then these might not be the socks you seek. I have a bunch of those socks - never wear them anymore.

**Q: What are the sizes for large and medium?**
A: Men's Sizing Guide: Small (5.5-7.5), Medium (8-9.5), Large (10-12), X-Large (12.5+)Women's Sizing Guide: Small (4.5-7), Medium (7.5-9.5), Large (10-11.5)

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Quality Socks
*by A***N on May 28, 2025*

I have purchased a few Darn Tough socks (leaving review on only one)... they are expensive as heck but so far despite washing them all 30+ times, the bottoms aren't wearing away like usual cotton socks. I don't know how long these things should last but they are trending to seem to last a lifetime at least in my use case. Maybe the elastic material inside of them will eventually degrade and give out if that's going to happen over time. 🤷‍♂️ In the time I have had all my Darn Tough socks, I would probably have gone through two iterations of replacing my cotton Gold Toe socks. What I mean to say is, up front they are pricey, but I am reaching the point of quality over quantity in terms of ROI. I still have what appears to be a lot more life in my Darn Tough socks still that justify their initial cost. They are thick on the bottoms, look well constructed, and are comfortable. Maybe a little on the tight size for their 'size'. Also maybe not suited for summer heat, but I endure. Do recommend giving them a trial/sample run if you are in a limbo state of trying to justify cost. I gave them a 'trial run' and am now ~12 pairs in on my 'trial'.
