Finding replacements is NOT easy. The most important part is how they perform though. They block out peripheral light quite well while also letting more light in through the shutters than the original pair. Battery life also seems to be very good. The old pair could get through 2 movies on charge... usually part way into a third. The new pair has lasted 3 movies and hasn't stopped yet. At the time, he was one of those people that wasn't in a hurry to purchase the 3D glasses. It was his birthday...so I bought him a pair. Months ago I bought a Panasonic 3Dtv from desertcart...and several 3D Blu-rays, so I knew how awesome the 3D would be on his tv. I even have the Panasonic exclusive Avatar 3D Blu ray so I mailed that movie, among others, to my friend so he could thoroughly check out the 3D on his tv. Which brings me to the first thing I loved about these glasses...the price. It was only 70 dollars...and for 3D shutter glasses, that's cheap. My Panasonic 3D glasses are currently 120 dollar a pair. It's the 2011 model as well. They are lighter than the 2010 model and has a built-in rechargable battery. It comes with a soft pouch case and the cable to plug it into the usb port on the side of the tv to recharge the batteries. Recharge time is excellent...a quick three minute charge will give three hours of viewing...and 45 minutes charge is a full charge giving up to 30 hours of viewing. My friend said they are so lightweight, you can barely feel them on your head. Once he watched my 3D Avatar, he was blown away. He thanked me for getting him these glasses for his birthday because he couldn't believe the 3D would look as good as it did. In some of the other movies, he did see some minor ghosting, but it's the same minor ghosting I see with my Panasonic glasses and tv in the same spots. So it's not the glasses or the tv in either of our cases, it's the Blu Ray transfer. Cause Avatar is flawless...so if they can release Avatar in 3D without ghosting, they should be able to do it will all 3D movies. These glasses are great...and apparently the 2011 model Sony 3Dtv's are great too since he watched Avatar 3D as good as I could watch it. desertcart delivered it on time...in perfect new condition. Won't hesitate to buy from desertcart again!!! You won't find better customer service anywhere. I made my Panasonic GT-25 3Dtv, Panasonic 3D Blu Ray Player, and the ultimate 3D kit will two pairs of 3D glasses and Avatar 3D bundle from desertcart at the same time. I have 2 pair of these glasses and just ordered another two pair. The merchant sales these for a cheap price and delivers early (though it does take awhile for them to get them to you) to their standards. These glasses work perfect with my Sony Bravia TV (XBR-55HX929). I went in thinking this was just going to be a rip-off purchase and that the picture wasn't going to look like the 3D in theaters. I was wrong. These glasses have made my 3D more enjoyable and I have since gone out and bought more 3D type movies. The downfall to these glasses are you can't have any electronics in front of you other than your tv. No computer, smartphone, or looking at someone else with these glasses on. The connection to the tv will be lost and it will look blurred for a few seconds. This is a minor downfall. The upside to these glasses are the battery life last a long time. Also if you aren't view anything in 3D with your tv or your glasses aren't focused in on the TV they shut off automatically. Being as they are USB charged they can be charged off any USB device (I prefer my PS3 or the TV itself). The glasses come with a little bag to place them in for protection. Great to keep the lenses from being scratched. If you are going to buy these glasses I highly recommend you do some research and see if your tv is 3D capable and that these glasses will work for your TV. I took 30 minutes to find these and see if my TV will be compatible. Also If you are looking for movies in 3D that are good there is Avatar, Alice in Wonderland, and etc. Just do a search for them in 3D. If you can't find them in 3D these glasses work with the 3D function that your TV provides.
