The yarn is soft for a cotton and holds up really well for things like bags, dishcloths, and wearable items.A heads-up about dye lots: mine from the Lion Brand website and Amazon were different, but luckily I genuinely can’t tell the difference in color. Yes, the yarn feels different than standard yarn. It’s supposed to. It’s processed differently for a reason.This particular yarn is perfect for any project that will be used or handled frequently. It is stronger, doesn’t produce heavy lint, doesn’t get fuzzy or pill up, doesn’t split easily, and is more resistant to mildew. It holds its shape better than regular cotton yarn, and withstands many many washes and tumble dries on a medium heat setting. (Don’t use bleach or fabric softener.)I disagree with the reviews that call it “thread” or dk weight. Not true. Yes, there is a dk version of this brand, but it clearly says dk on the front part of the label.
