Q: WHY DO I NEED VERDANT REPUBLIC'S SEEDS FOR SPROUTING? A: Unlike grocery store bought seeds, our sprouting seeds are all free of e.coli and salmonella. Our growers take great care in ensuring the seeds are cleaned and free of harmful bacteria and other pathogens that can thrive in the sprouting environment Q: WHY DO MY SPROUTS SMELL? A: Certain sprout variety like brassica ( broccoli and red cabbage) releases sulphur, so a little smell is a good thing, but when the sprouts have a bad or rancid smell, then it is most likely that the sprouts have rotted and when this happens, they need to be discarded. There could be a few reasons for this such as soaking the seeds for too long, uncleaned jar or too much water in the jar which drowns the seeds. Give your jar a hearty shake to remove excess water during draining. Q: THERE ARE A LOT OF UN-SPROUTED SEEDS IN THE BOTTOM OF MY SPROUTER. A: You need to spend more time draining after you rinse your sprouts.. After rinsing you must get as much water out of your sprouter as possible! If you use a jar, shake it vigorously and leave it at a 45° angle (lid down) between rinses to give any remaining water a way out. Do not be deceived into thinking the water will drain by itself. If you are seeing a lot of un-sprouted seeds then you need to drain more. For glass jar sprouter swap to rinsing and draining once a day instead of twice a day. Q: MY SPROUTS ARE MOULDY. A: 99% of the time, you aren't seeing mould, you are seeing Root Hairs . If you are growing broccoli, radish or another brassica, or a grain, and you see this "fuzz" / root hair just before you rinse. Once rinse, you won't see them again until your next rinse. It is possible to grow mould or fungus on your sprouts. Common causes are 1. Sprouter with poor air-circulation . 2. Insufficient draining after rinses 3. High humidity in your home. 4. A not clean enough sprouter. 5. Growing your sprouts in a cabinet. 6. Rinsing with warm or hot water. Our suggestion, 1. Sterilize your sprouter. 2. Place your sprouter to a spot with better air-circulation and drain more after every rinse 3. Use cold water instead of cool when you rinse. 4. Changing your sprouter may remedy the problem 5. **Q: Can all the seeds be sprouted or are some only suitable as micro greens?**
A: They can all be sprouted

**Q: What Growing medium is recommended for micro greens**
A: I successfully used ordinary multicompost in a small seed tray, but don't sow too much at a time.

**Q: It appears you are based in uk, (i couldn't find your address btw.) and i'd like to know why you don't send to n.ireland?**
A: Unfortunately, as they are being fulfilled by Amazon, they have stopped shipment of seeds to Northern Ireland due to Brexit. We do apologise for this.

**Q: The paper towel method has not worked as all sprouts are stuck to it so cant grow on to microgreens. Money wasted after following your instructions.**
A: We would suggest to wait for a few days until the microgreens are around 2.5 to 3cm tall so the roots are firming establish before removing the paper towel. Also, wet the paper towel first. This way would be easier to to remove the towel with minimal sprouts being stuck to the paper.

A nice mix, though perhaps too many brassicas. I didn't bother putting seeds in the dark, treated them as any other seeds and they sprouted beautifully - and quickly. Haven't eaten yet, so can't comment on taste. Well worth the money.
