Review: Easy and Fast Growing Sprouts with Impressive Yield - I wanted to try some indoor gardening that would be simple, low maintenance, and not attract gnats. Growing organic alfalfa sprouts seemed like a great option since they’re easy to add to so many meals. At first, the price felt a little high for a one pound bag, but that quickly changed once I started using them. I was genuinely surprised by how many sprouts I got from just one tablespoon of seeds (see photos). The process is straightforward. Just rinse and drain daily. Mine were ready in about five to six days. They turned out fresh, crisp, and really tasty, and my family enjoyed them a lot. A little goes a long way, so the value ends up being much better than it seems at first. I’m really glad I gave these a try and will definitely be buying more when we run out. A great choice if you want an easy way to grow fresh sprouts at home.
Review: I am SO happy with these Alfalfa Sprout seeds! - I heard about how nutritious sprouts are and how good they are for detoxing on a recent Mike Adams episode (The Health Ranger) and ordered these seeds the next day. I also ordered the wide mouth canning jars with strainers I wanted to grow them in, and they all came a few days later. The directions on the package are easy to follow. I put one teaspoon of seeds in each jar. I soaked the seeds for about five or six hours, and then rinsed the sprouts every three to six hours after that. They sprouted within two to three days. It was a bit overwhelming having to rinse the sprouts so often in the middle of the night - I was literally carrying the jars upstairs every night! However, after a few nights of this, I realized I could skip the middle of the night rinse by wrapping the jars in a plastic bag every night which holds the water in and keeps the sprouts moist, so they don't dry out! This made it feel less of a chore, and now it is just a commitment to rinse them every couple of hours when I am in the kitchen. This takes only about a minute or two and has become part of my normal routine already. This picture was taken exactly one week from the day that I started them. I did take three servings from the jar on the right for salads, which is why the sprouts are lower in that jar. They tasted great in the salad, combined with carrots, celery, mushroom, and ranch dressing, by the way. They are crisp, with a strong, fresh flavor. I had tried hydroponic gardening last winter and found it was rewarding but a bit frustrating waiting almost a month for the lettuce to grow big enough to eat. In comparison, it has only been a week, and already I have enough sprouts for a dozen salads when combined with other vegetables! I would highly recommend these sprouts if you have the ability to keep them on a kitchen counter where you remember to rinse them regularly. You may be able to keep them moist during the day the way I do at night - by wrapping them in a plastic bag (like a shopping bag) if you are not able to rinse as often because you work full time - this does keep the moisture in the containers, so they do not dry out for eight or ten hours! This is definitely a good buy, and fun too!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How exactly do you sprout these seeds in jars? my seed pack onĺy has directions for tray sprouting. thank you.**
A: Put 1tblsp seeds in quart ball jar with screen lid and soak over night in water- 2-3”. Drain water and rinse a couple of times, drain completely wrap in dish towel allowing air circulation ( dark helps germination). Rinse 2-3 times a day for 2-3 days and then put them in moderate sun for 1-2 days, while continuing to rinse. Rinse and drain well and start eating. Store in frig.

**Q: are these seeds gluten free ?**
A: I am a farmer and I would point toward scientific studies all I know is many people I know that are sensitive to wheat can utilize alfalfa and clover instead, but this is just my experience. I do believe they still contain gluten at some level just not near as high. Official sites on this subject could guide you with certainty.

Dried alfalfa seeds lack of gluten protein and, compared to refined wheat flour, they contain higher protein, fat and crude fibre contents (Ullah et al., 2016)

Thank you

**Q: These are not labeled as non-gmo on the package. how can i be sure that they are?**
A: Because they are certified organic, it is the highest certification, you cannot have a product certified without the product being non gmo, other products that state non gmo but are not certified organic are inferior seed

**Q: What is it packaged in? If aluminum, that will leach into the seeds. Aluminum is a heavy metal detrimental to the body.**
A: The package is a plastic material (multiple layers) same as they
package potato chips but with more layers for strength..

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Germination and Flavorful Alfalfa Sprouts
*by R***. on July 11, 2025*

I absolutely love this microgreen and sprouting seed variety pack from Rainbow Heirloom Seed Co., especially the alfalfa sprouts. They sprouted quickly, tasted amazing, and have become a staple in my kitchen routine. Pros: • High Germination Rate: Nearly every alfalfa seed sprouted beautifully, resulting in a fresh, crunchy harvest. • Delicious and Fresh: The alfalfa sprouts are crisp, mildly nutty, and full of flavor, perfect for salads, wraps, and sandwiches. • Easy to Grow: Great even for beginners. Just soak, rinse, and wait a few days for a satisfying yield. • Clean, Heirloom Seeds: Non-GMO and very high quality. No fillers, no waste—just good, clean seeds that do what they promise. This is hands down one of the best sprouting seed packs I’ve ever tried. If you enjoy growing your own alfalfa sprouts at home, this is a no-brainer. Highly recommended!
