Review: Great starter kit - Easy to setup, make sure you set the quality to high and have decent sized storage (low quality is potato cam and would be useless for anything legal, high quality is perfect even at night in my unlit garden). Motion detection has good sensitivity, great price for entry level kit.

**Q: Are the Ethernet cable / plug , optional power supply plug and the reset switch waterproof or do they need to be boxed.**
A: I would suggest you box the junction. Even using the supplied kit I’ve now burned out two of the RJ45 sockets on these cameras after heavy rain. Cutting off and replacing the RJ45 socket is very difficult due to the extremely thin and delicate wires used. I’m about to purchase the Reolink junction box to try to avoid this happening again.

**Q: Will reolink help with any config issues during setup with a nvr for example? if so is support available via phone in the uk or via chat? tic tok**

**Q: What wattage are these over POE please?**
A: Hello, the standard power consumption of this camera is <12 W. And the consumption is affected by the status of infrared lights, master chips, and sensors, etc.

**Q: Can this be powered by a PoE switch?  The camera needs 48v active (36w?) but most switches only do 30w per port?  Many thanks.**
A: Hello. The PoE injector/switch should be 802.3af compliant (48V) and support active mode. As for the port output power of the POE switch, 30W is enough.

Very easy to set up with just a POE injector, WIFI Pod and a 256gb micro SD providing 4-5 days of recordings. No need for an NVR, unless you want more than one camera, Fantastic picture, day and night. All in all, cost less than £100 to have a very good CCTV system at home that you can view from anywhere in the world with a wifi or data connection. Highly recommend for piece of mind.

I bought this assuming I could just plug it into my Hikvision NVR, it plugs in okay but it's not recognised by the NVR so I've bought a POE, the link for this is :- https://www.amazon.co.uk/NETGEAR-Gigabit-Ethernet-Unmanaged-Network/dp/B09178VJK9/ref=sr_1_4?crid=2DAOMP8IIIN8O&keywords=netgear%2Bpoe%2Bswitch&qid=1663257868&sprefix=NETGEAR%2BPoE%2BSwitch%2Caps%2C169&sr=8-4&th=1 Now the camera is plugged into this and I can access it and set it up from my web browser on my computer, once the camera is set up I use the reolink app on my phone, this will receive alerts (if you have set it up for alerts) and you can view live footage or recorded footage from your mobile phone. It can be set up to email you and I'll just say here that it was a pain in the rear to set up but only because it uses a weird password method, but don't be put off by this as there is a very good youtube video by TDCatTech that is so simple to follow, even I did it the first time, now I have the camera up and running and all is well, the picture quality is great and I couldn't believe how much sound this thing picks up through that tiny hole for the microphone, for a camera this size and price I'm well and truly surprised.
