Vacuum glass liner provides excellent heat retention. Available in two sizes. Review: Could have been better. - It keeps hot only for like 1.5-2 hours then my tea loses most of the heat. Also, the last portion of the tea, it spills somewhere from the lid instead of the actual spilling hole, which is weird. Review: Japanese quality - This was exactly what I was looking for, from a reputable Japanese brand. It is a nice product all-round. We have been using it every day for the past couple of weeks, and we are very happy with it. Would it hold a porcelain drip filter on top without falling off?** A: The top round section of the lid unscrews. The part under that, with the spout and where the top of the handle meets must stay on. That only unscrews if you want to remove the glass thermal jug inside as it holds it securely in place. With the top portion unscrewed a round lip is on top, diameter 3 3/4 inches. As long as the drip filter has a flat that will sit on that lip then yes it will sit there. The inside of the threaded section is 2 3/4 inch diameter and the hole into the flask is 1 1/2 inch. The height from the hole to the top of the lip is just over 1 inch. **Q: Is the inside of this 1.85L thermos made of glass or stainless steel?** A: I am unsure but suspect it is glass as there is a section in the care of the carafe that refers to particles that may flake off of the inside of the carafe of the type that are found on glass in nature. Key to any storage device of this type is to pre warm or pre cool prior to filling. I use a Camelbak for cold liquids (stainless interior) and find it adequate even if left in a hot car for several hours. **Q: How wide is the opening at the top with the cover removed?** A: Thank you for your inquiry. With the lid removed from the AFFB-19S Premium Thermal Carafe, the diameter of the opening where liquid is poured in is 1 1/2 inches wide and the whole diameter of the product top without the lid is 3 3/4 inches and the Please contact Zojirushi America Customer Service at 1-800-733-6270 for further assistance or email support@zojirushi.com **Q: Where was it made?** A: stainless steel with glass thermal, with plastic top, handle and swivel base ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐ Could have been better. *by Z***L on 8 April 2025* It keeps hot only for like 1.5-2 hours then my tea loses most of the heat. Also, the last portion of the tea, it spills somewhere from the lid instead of the actual spilling hole, which is weird. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Japanese quality *by M***S on 5 October 2020* This was exactly what I was looking for, from a reputable Japanese brand. It is a nice product all-round. We have been using it every day for the past couple of weeks, and we are very happy with it. Do try to remember to click the button to seal it after you have poured out some hot water, or the remaining contents will go cold. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best Carafe ever! *by R***N on 29 April 2026* We have owned a previous edition of this Thermal Carafe for probably close to 20 years or more until it finally failed. We loved it so much that we wanted to replace it with the same or similar product. This carafe came close and the only difference is that the engineering has improved and is even better than our old one. What has improved? the lid in the old carafe needed to be partially opened in order to pour the coffee which meant heat could escape. With the new carafe there is a button that opens the pouring spout only - a much more elegant solution and less steam can escape keeping the contents of the carafe hot longer. Both my husband and I absolutely love this new design! ## Frequently Bought Together - Zojirushi Premium Thermal Carafe, 1.0-Liter, Brushed Stainless Steel - RSVP Manual Drip Coffee Filter Cone for Carafes or Thermos --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - 🛒 **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** — Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** — Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - 💰 **No Hidden Fees** — All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - 🔄 **15-Day Free Returns** — Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - 🔒 **Secure Payments** — Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** — Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/225866350-affb-10s-premium-thermal-1-0-liter-carafe-brushed-stainless](https://www.desertcart.co.za/products/225866350-affb-10s-premium-thermal-1-0-liter-carafe-brushed-stainless) --- *Product available on Desertcart South Africa* *Store origin: ZA* *Last updated: 2026-10-11*
