If you put an 8" pot into the 8" tray, it will fit pretty tight. Just enough clearance yo fit a pencil. I have small hands and could not get my finger to the bottom. **Q: Is there a weight limit recommendation?** A: I used planter pots according to the saucer's size and had no weight problem with it. **Q: Would these fit under a 1 gallon pot and a 5 gallon pot for water runoff indoor marijuana plants?** A: Amazon asked me to answer this but I did not buy these! The ones I bought were 12", 10", 8" and 6".
