I used it at my desk for a while, but because I always span the same way when I wanted to go do something else, after a while the stool would get higher and higher and I'd have to spin it back down! It's great. Very solid. Easy to put together. You may need to tighten up the screws from time to time but it comes with a decent screwdriver too. I currently use it as a table! **Q: Is this all solid beech ?** A: It seems to all be made of the same wood - it's very good quality. I stopped using it as a stool and use it as a table!
