I used them on some small potted trees by our front door, not near an outlet. I thought I could turn them on and they would be bright for a couple of weeks. After all, the power consumption of LEDs are very low, right? Well, after just one day, they began to dim tremendously and by day three, they were almost totally dead. And the strand uses three AA batteries, so that's a decent investment itself. With Christmas lights, who turns them on and off after an hour or so? They just don't last long enough to recommend. I am giving two stars simply because they do work and work well with fresh batteries. But don't expect them to last very long.
