You want the pcv system to pull as much turbulent air out of the engine as possible and feed it back into the intake. Thank you** A: Hi,o ring OD is 56mm, thickness is 2.4mm. **Q: Does this work with a 5.7 hemi?** A: No, not the one with the breather on it, that breather will be a vacuum leak. It has to be a sealed system. Their other oil separator without the breather will work on any vehicle with a closed crankcase ventilation system (anything with a PCV valve). It gets installed inline with the hose/tube from the PCV valve to the intake manifold. Flow direction is from pcv to intake. If you live up north make sure to install any oil seperator towards the firewall and not up front, condensation will freeze in the screen and can cause pressure in the crankcase resulting in lots of oil consumption and blown out seals.
