My current ones do, despite the design** A: Had a cheaper version that came with a tent/hammock/tarp - no bending if you get a feel for what you are doing - which many don't when they hammer only. If a rock is hit a couple inches down, and you attempt to move or go thru a rock that is underground with a thin piece of metal - anything is going to bend when you try to force it. Take stake out, re-angle it's entry or move sideways to miss rock, or if that large and that close - use another solution. Frankly the differences in some people bending & some not - are due to skill level of people using them.
