I bought both the valve and actuator thinking both may be faulty. Since the existing valve's spindle spun continuously, rather than thru 90 degrees, I assumed it was damaged. However that is not the case with these valves, unlike Drayton. So I didn't need to replace the actual valve in the end. The motor in the old actuator offered so much resistance (partially seized?) that the spring was unable to rotate the cam backwards. I prefer the screw fixing of the Danfoss actuator over the clip on Draytons. However there is no indication on the Danfoss enclosure that the actuator is moving or what position it is in. Which makes fault finding harder. Also they are very quiet especially when new.
