It was mostly noticeable when I opened the case to take out/put in my glasses; I didn’t notice it when the cases were closed. I have no idea why they smelled like fish (maybe an adhesive they used?) but honestly, the cases are so nice and well made that it was worth putting up with it for a couple of months until it faded away.
