It has so many good qualities. Where to even begin? I'll make a list: 1. It's automatic. You just set it down on the record, just like the needle arm, and it does the rest. The fine hairs on the brush clean deep into the record grooves while automatically moving along the tracks, just like the needle does, so it always stays perfectly just ahead of your needle, and cleans each part of the record just before your needle plays it. Absolutely incredible cleaning with no effort at all. 2. The accuracy. It's perfect--it moves at the exact same speed as the needle around the record moving inwards, and cleans deeply because of the thin hairs. 3. It removed static. Hudson developed it to take static away at the brush tips and move it all the way down the ground cable to be removed entirely. I noticed significantly less pops and crackles with this brush. 4. It's a complete clean. All that's left at the end is a ring of dust on the very inside of the record, next to the lable, where no music tracks are, and it's easy to clean off with any other cleaning item. 5. The precise construction. They really went deep into detail with this brush. It has a counterweight which is perfectly balanced, such that you can screw it to levitate off the record, or sit right on it, which allows me to keep the brush elevated while not in use. It has a rotation "hinge" that is super unique and very sensitive, and this works together with he counterweight to create the perfect amount of pressure on the surface of the record. It's just so well made. I can't even describe it all, you'll just have to get one and see! All in all, this brush does what it should do, and does it automatically. It's a great addition to any record player! Review: Important information so it won't slide across. Edit. Straight garbage - I thought I made a mistake by buying this. I was looking for something to remove the static off the vynil since every time I lift the vynil off the record player I can hear loud pops of static and I can definitely feel it in my fingers. Well this completely solved the issue. No more pops and crackles once your done playing one side of the vynil and your removing it. Honestly I didn't think it was going to work but when I open it it was a pretty hefty piece of metal and it looks elegant as well. Matches my wood record player nicely. Setup! It kept sliding to the center slowly but surely before the needle finished the vynil. Maybe like 2 minutes before it finish. I looked at the tiny screw holding the extended pole with the hairs in place and I thought I could move it but I couldn't because the pole had an indent that it's suppose to stay that side as you screw the tiny screw on. Then I grabbed the end by the hairs and twist it slightly too were the top of the 90 degree elbow is facing the outside of the vynil. The elbow was facing inward towards the center of the vynil thats why it moved too quick. Check out my photo for reference. You can see it's slightly to the outside of the vynil and now it tracks perfect. Quick update. Unless your vynil is completely straight not warped and a perfect hole in the middle it won't work. I have a warp vynil every time this passes trough the hump it moves more towards center. Disappointing but it still helps remove the static even if it's in the middle I notice. I didn't buy it for the cleaning since I keep my vynils mint Edit. Maybe.2021 Going straight to the garbage. This was a new record completely perfect. I always clean my records before and after. Dust them off and check it with a light. The dang thing lost a big hair ball size chunk of white hair and some how got imbeded into the vynil. I notice too late as it was going around it started skipping. I'm wet cleaning it now but still no luck so it looks like I might have to get another vynil. Don't bother with this. As you can see in the pic I can still see the ridges of the hair. Any troubleshooting tips on getting this to work?** A: If you are talking about balancing the weight, in order for it to track well. I would suggest making sure that the base is positioned so that the brush is centered on the spindle of the turntable when it is swung in all the way. This makes the tracking speed much less dependent on how the weight is adjusted. I hope this helps. **Q: Is there any way to set up the anti-skating on this broom? It seems to always veer outwards no matter how much vertical tracking force I put on it.** A: Make sure the brush is tightened properly to the arm. I am by far an expert, my brush did the same thing, but this fixed it for me. Also make sure that the brush is the right height. I don't know if Hudson would approve of this, but setting it so the arm is slightly higher that level with the arm. This seems to give the brush more weight. It neutralizes much–– but NOT ALL––of the static cling that attracts dust and creates clicks & pops as a record is being played. After playing, the disc needs to be removed, flipped, or changed; which means the anti-static arm has to be swung out of the way, of course. However—unless you spend the time to REMOVE the anti-static arm from its stand, and tuck it safely away—your brush tip will probably end up resting somewhere on a dirty part of the turntable, while you’re changing your records! A more useful & practical addition would be to include an integrated, adjustable ARMREST for the brush, so it doesn’t touch anything when not actively being used. When the brush’s arm is swung off the record and placed on the armrest, it would serve to keep the brush tip suspended ABOVE the turntable surface and prevent the brush from getting dirty, or unnecessarily worn.
