I have three Sloan Flushmate toilets in my home and have replaced the cartridges in all three in the last 17 years. In the past I've used the "pliers handle" method that the Sloan instructions suggest. That's a bit of a pain so this time around I decided to invest in this wrench and it works perfectly. One suggestion: Before installing the cartridge, lubricate the threads with some liquid soap or hair conditioner. I used some of the latter and it makes the cartridge much easier to turn and seat properly. Even if you only replace the cartridge every 17 years, this tool will be worth the price. Review: Made the change out quick and easy. - I’ve only had to swap my valve once so far since owning the power flush. I will say, when the valve goes out, you need to swap it now. Sure you can get it out other ways, but if you want to do it right, have the right tool. I didn’t want risk it so I got this tool. with the valve. It’s only plastic, but it’s also being used on plastic. You don’t really want a metal tool tearing up a plastic housing. It made the job painless and quick. I stash it in the tank so I don’t lose it. The tool was only 2" tall and broke with almost no effort when trying to remove the cartridge. I can't believe this would be an OEM item if there wasn't a brand name on it like the picture shows on the amazon website. It is hard to tell if the "pitch" is stating that it is a tool for removing "an OEM cartridge" or if it is being sold as an "OEM tool".
